Adam is a co-founder and Creative Director of Children’s Discovery Museum (CDM) a non-profit educational charity funded by philanthropy and grants. The CDM mission is to develop and promote innovative education experiences that build community capacity. Since 2001, CDM has produced learning experiences that have featured at festivals and events across Australia and internationally. This work culminated in a partnership with the University of Wollongong’s development of the Early Start Discovery Space – currently Australia’s only example of a US-styled children’s museum, it is a first for Australia and a model for the world being the only public entity of its kind imbedded within an academic institution. CDM’s current major project is a national role out of library-hosted activities, the Little Bang Discovery Club, Big Bang Science Clubs and Spark! Discovery Boxes.

How does this session contribute to Seeing Science Differently?
Our case studies will challenge assumptions that school is the best and perhaps only place where and when children learn science, given schooling takes up just 5% of our learning ecosystem.
