Karen Pearce is a science communicator based in regional New South Wales and operating as a sole trader. Karen established Bloom Communication after working in communication and science-related roles for a number of years, in universities, government agencies and publishing. Since launching Bloom Communication in 2007, Karen has undertaken projects for local, state and federal government agencies, research agencies and private enterprise. She has particular experience in the communication of issues about climate change, the environment and natural resource management. The Earth Systems and Climate Change Hub discussed in this case study presentation is one of her clients.
