Seeing Science Differently at ASC2017
Thank you to everyone for the flood of great submissions!
Onsite presentation submissions have been responded to.
Onsite presenters who have accepted the offer to present are now listed here, and their session details here.
Note that a number of these presenters may opt for a combination of both onsite and online programming and we will be figuring those out in the weeks ahead.
Digital (online) program submissions are still in review and will be announced soon.
We are still ACCEPTING submissions to the online program, including poster presentations and posters for the online digital gallery, science art presentations and science art images for the online digital gallery, case study presentations and more. See information on submitting your proposal below, and send to program.committe@asc.asn.au with DIGITAL clearly marked in the Subject header so that we understand you are applying for an online presentation/session.
Research submissions were due 1 December. The onsite research program is now full though you are welcome to submit submissions for the wait-list in the event of a cancellation.
Email research submissions to conference.submissions@asc.asn.au
Other submissions were due Sunday, 6 November.
Emailed to program.committee@asc.asn.au
Get your thinking caps on!
The Program Committee for the Australian Science Communicators Ninth National Conference, ASC2017, invites our talented community of science communication practitioners, researchers and facilitators to prepare to submit expressions of interest to participate in the upcoming conference.
For the first time we are offering a digital program as well as the 2 day on site program so that members who cannot travel to attend the conference in person will still have an opportunity to participate in ASC2017 via online webinars and be included in the program and online if selected. We hope this means we will see more from our collaborators from SCANZ and elsewhere!
Note that sessions accepted for the digital/online program stream will be scheduled at times separate to the onsite program and both schedules (onsite and online) will be made available after the program committee has reviewed submissions. This is a first for the national conference so please don’t hesitate to ask questions if something is not yet clear.
When submitting your expression of interest to program.committee@asc.asn.au please let us know if you are NOT planning on attending the conference in person so that we consider your work for the digital conference stream only.

How does your work/project/proposal contribute to Seeing Science Differently?
Please send your answer to the question above, along with your abstract and/or proposal, bio and photo to program.committee@asc.asn.au by end Sunday 6th November 2016 for consideration in the ONSITE program in Adelaide. We are accepting submissions for the ONLINE (digital) program until sometime in December so if keen to participate please send yours in.
Remember to let us know if you are *not* planning on attending the conference in person so that we consider your proposal for the digital conference stream only.
*If you are considering submitting an academic paper for peer review and have not yet seen the call for papers see here. Deadline for research abstract submission is Thursday, December 1st 2016 and these are submitted to conference.submissions@asc.asn.au.
#Science Art Exhibitors The FutureSpace Gallery at the venue will be hosting an exhibition of astrophotography images at the time of the conference so there is no dedicated space on site for a science art exhibition this year. However, we’d be delighted to incorporate a digital gallery on the conference website and run a projection of science art images and video during the conference. If you are a science art practitioner keen to include your work in the conference program (whether or not you can attend the event in person), please submit your interest in participating in the science art gallery by the 6th November 2016 as outlined above. If there is interest we will invite selected exhibitors to participate in one or more science art webinars depending on the mix of submissions received.
